Better care.
Delivered together.

When services need reliable support at short notice, and carers are looking for meaningful, flexible opportunities – we bring the right people together.

Fully trained. Fully prepared. Ready to step in.

You Ask. We Match. They Deliver.

At Hippo, we believe healthcare works best when everyone plays their part. No service can run on its own, no shift succeeds without preparation, and no team performs well without the right support. Even the strongest teams need backup from time to time, and that’s where we come in…

If we’re asking you to trust us, it’s only fair you know who you’re dealing with.

Got questions?We've got answers

Got a question? You’ll probably find the answer here. Don’t worry, we keep it simple and easy to understand.

We’re an independent healthcare staffing agency built on relationships, not volume.

You won’t be passed around departments or left waiting for callbacks. You’ll deal directly with a team that understands your service, your standards and your pressures.

Most importantly, we don’t just send people to fill gaps. Every member of our team is trained and competency-checked in-house before they step into your service. That means when we send someone, we know they’re ready, because we’ve prepared them ourselves.

We provide fully compliant:

  • Healthcare Assistants
  • Support Workers
  • Complex Care Support Workers
  • 1:1 Support Staff

We support residential care homes, nursing homes, supported living services and specialist care environments.

If you’re delivering care, we’re here to support your team.

Yes, and we take that seriously.

All staff undergo:

  • Enhanced DBS checks
  • Right to Work verification
  • Verified employment references
  • Mandatory training aligned with CQC standards
  • In-house competency assessments

Because preparation protects care. We maintain high standards so you can feel confident in the people stepping into your service.

Absolutely.

We operate 24/7 and regularly support services with:

  • Short-notice shifts
  • Sickness cover
  • Emergency staffing gaps

Our fulfilment team works from early morning until late evening to respond quickly and efficiently. When things change unexpectedly, we move fast, so your service can continue running safely.

Yes. Wherever possible, we prioritise continuity.

We understand how important familiar faces are for residents and service users. We work hard to build consistent staffing partnerships, so temporary support still feels like part of your team.

Our rates vary depending on the service and the level of training required.

We can accommodate specialist requirements such as:

  • Buccal Midazolam
  • Bespoke dementia training
  • Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
  • Other service-specific competencies

We aim to offer competitive, transparent rates and are always happy to work with providers to find solutions that fit within budgets.

All of our staff are paid in line with – or above – the National Minimum Wage.

We work in line with CQC requirements and the Care Certificate standards.

Our team completes a combination of online and practical training, including Moving and Handling and all mandatory care modules. In total, our training programme covers 27 courses, alongside in-house competency checks.

Because when someone arrives on shift, they shouldn’t need to “learn as they go” – they should already be prepared.

This is exactly what we’re here for.

Our dedicated fulfilment team works closely with our extensive pool of carers to secure cover quickly and efficiently.

We can also work proactively on a rota basis, planning ahead with your service to ensure shifts are booked in advance and pressure is reduced wherever possible.

Our transfer terms are outlined clearly within our Terms of Business.

We operate a fair policy based on 13 or 26 weeks of consistent work. If you’re interested in offering a permanent role, we’ll talk you through the process openly and transparently.
